The Robotic Urology Forum (RUF) focuses on robotic surgery in the field of urology and uro-oncology. Aiming to provide clinical, educational and innovative services, and discuss practical aspects of robotic surgery.

RUF website as a platform allows surgeons to share videos, advice and innovative approaches with one another, for the real value in moving robotic surgery forward is to share as much information about the process and techniques as possible. Accordingly, we facilitate the opportunity to contact colleagues, experts, proctors or trainers in favor of multi-institutional programs. To connect and discuss techniques, approaches and concerns you might have in relation to a certain procedure.

At this time of great change in the healthcare industry technology advances faster than ever before, and robotic surgery leading the way. Whether you are a well-trained surgeon in robotic techniques or just starting to learn, RUF is the perfect environment for you to grow as a physician, as a surgeon, and as an expert.

Forum is founded on the fundamental principles of education and collaboration to tackle the complex issues of robotic surgery. Through collaborative efforts afforded by surgeons, allied health and executives, this society gives enormous possibilities in terms of multi-centric studies, database collection and fellowship training. We as an organization seek participation from young faculty and fellows in the hope that we can assist them as they embrace robotic surgery.

Our Mission

The Robotic Urology Forum (RUF) is a non-profit, educational organization established to provide an open forum for urologist and uro-oncologist surgeons and other health professionals interested in minimally invasive and robotic surgeries.

RUF endeavors to improve patient care and promote the highest standards of practice through education, training, and providing latest information. RUF provides a forum for the introduction, discussion and dissemination of new and established ideas, techniques and therapies in robotic surgery.

A fundamental goal of RUF is ensuring that its members updated with newest ideas and approaches. RUF makes information available from national and international experts through its publications, videos, conferences, and other electronic media.

RUF OBJECTIVES

Provide an efficient, centralized source of information and instruction for urologist and through high quality educational opportunities, publications, videos, website content, and other electronic media.
Promote continuous improvements in the standards of practice of robotic surgery through education and training.
Encourage scientific study and its publication.
Recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to robotic surgery.
Encourage and support hospitals, medical schools, postgraduate educational programs and other entities in the provision of high-quality programs and training in robotic surgery.
Collaborate with other robotic urology forums and organizations to maximize benefit to our members and patients.

MISSION STATEMENT

RUF is established to provide an open forum for urologist and uro-oncologist interested in robotic surgery. RUF is committed to attaining the highest standards of educational quality.

PURPOSE: The purpose of our program is to:

Stimulate interest, inform, enhance skills, and foster the productive exchange of ideas, approaches, and experiences among practitioners who use and contribute to robotic surgery.
Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in robotic surgery.
Focus on the knowledge, competence or performance needs of practitioners to improve practice and clinical outcomes.
Improve the quality, safety and outcomes of patient care through educational opportunities.
Build and maintain an interactive web environment allowing surgeons to share videos, advice and innovations;
Facilitate the opportunity to contact colleagues, experts, proctors and trainers; Organize exchange programs, and conduct virtual webinars and live surgeries.
Organize, support and standardize educational models and training programs; and Support and favour clinical and experimental research aimed at expanding the clinical application of robotic surgery.

TYPE OF ACTIVITIES

RUF fulfills its CME mission through interactive, innovative educational conferences, postgraduate courses, and workshops using experts in robotic surgery and in education as presenters, faculty, workshop leaders, and as facilitates the exchange of information and understanding among peers. RUF interacts with other national and international professional organizations with similar goals to promote professional dialogue and understanding that will catalyze change and improve patient care.

CME PROCESS

To help as a planning guide, RUF has a CME mission statement, which includes the CME purpose, content areas, target audience and type of activities provided. RUF also identifies the expected results of its CME Program. This is reviewed on annual basis, by the CME committee and Board of trustees. RUF has an organizational structure that supports CME Program. Chart outlines the various resources and there function. RUF identifies the educational needs & results for all CME activities.
